ABC Soils, Inc. has a depth of experience in construction inspection, resident engineering, field operations oversight and record drawings preparations. We are well qualified to oversee projects involving water and wastewater infrastructure construction of all types. We have been responsible for variously inspecting and preparing record drawings for numerous major municipal water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations and pipeline construction projects.
ABC Soils provides a solid base of support, and understands the qualifications needed and how to staff each job. This ensures that inspectors are reliable and well-prepared for the jobs.
Project examples include:
- Managed contaminated soil for ten years, and electronically drafted utility replacement work for Boston’s Central Artery/Third Harbor Tunnel construction project;
- Prepared record drawings for major renovation and re-build for Upper Blackstone Wastewater Treatment Facility (servicing Worcester, MA), Haverhill Wastewater Treatment Plant, Billerica Water Treatment Plant, and the South Essex Wastewater District Wastewater Treatment Facility;
- Construction inspection of major water and wastewater transmission lines, pump stations and water storage tank projects in Tewksbury and Lowell.
- Construction inspection of water treatment system upgrades ongoing for past four years in Lawrence and Lowell. Work has included inspecting replacement of large diameter transmission mains, photovoltaic field installations, pump station and treatment facility renovations, preparing planting plans and overseeing installation.
- Prepared the environmental specifications for the demolition and re-construction of the Nut Island Wastewater pretreatment/grit screening facility serving the Metropolitan Boston area for the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority
- Environmental oversight for site development and construction of the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority's current office and maintenance facilities serving as their headquarters in Chelsea, Massachusetts.
- Inspection of pipeline installation projects in numerous municipalities and State projects throughout Massachusetts.
- Performed a number of extensive stormwater quality and infrastructure mapping projects relative to combined sewer overflows and affordability studies for system upgrades following U.S. Environmental Protection Agency guidelines in Woburn, MA and similar work for approximately six other public entities.
